Summary[]
After using the New Dempsey Roll for a second time it was finally, for an end. And for last, the fearsome match ends with the winner Ippo. Sawamura left on a stretcher, and went immediately to the hospital. Sendō visited him saying that still not even the Owari dragon couldn't win Ippo.

- In the manga, after round six, Kawabe went to Sawamura's corner to try an encourage him, however, Sawamura spat on his face. In the anime, this is removed.
- In the manga, after Ippo won and thanked the audience, he fell down and had to be carried by Takamura to his waiting room. In the anime, he fell down, but it doesn't show Takamura carrying him.
- In the manga, after Sendō talked about Ippo's fists, Sawamura hurts himself trying to kick him out. Sendō then informed Sawamura about how Kawabe came from the same institution as him, making him like his senpai. Sendō left his room afterwards and told Kawabe that Sawamura wanted to eat a grade A steak with him when he gets out. In the anime, these scenes are removed.
- The anime removed a scene of Kumi going to Ippo's waiting room and being asked by the Kamogawa gym boxers to walk him home.
- Ippo's flashback that happens after this match was moved to the first episode of this season.
