At the End of the Death Match is Round 21 of the Hajime no Ippo: Rising anime, which is the adaptation of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo series.

Summary[]

The death match continues with both fighters injured, until Takamura's left eye gets swallowed and cannot see, the same goes for the other eye which has blood on it. Takamura gets beaten up, until he says that he will hit to the training mitts, that Kamogawa has. He doesn't miss were to hit, and he rushes in while he is completely blind, by only see his foots below in front of him. Punches of Takamura do not miss the mark, and Eagle is almost losing control on winning against him. As Takamura continues to throw punches, with his vision completely black, he finally gets Eagle to the ground. Takamura does not stop throwing punches in the air, until Kamogawa stops him. Eagle, was on the canvas unconscious. He conquered the second weight class, and won against David Eagle. Kimura, Itagaki and Aoki go in the ring to see him.

  • In the manga, when Takamura left the Yokohama Arena, everyone wanted to party with Takamura until Ippo mentioned that Kamogawa wanted him to walk Takamura straight to his house. In the anime, everyone wanted Takamura to go home and rest.
  • The anime removes a scene of the everyone going inside Takamura's house and being kicked out by him when he tries to sleep.
  • The anime removes a scene of Ippo, Itagaki, and Hiroko watching a TV commercial of Takamura advertising "Champion Royal C" and the Kamogawa gym boxers talking about the commercial at the gym.
  • The scene of Takamura cutting Aoki's hair into Papaya's style in shortened.
  • In the manga, Kimura helps Takamura by holding Aoki as Takamura cuts his hair. In the anime, Kimura is tied up and Takamura was about to cut his hair as well before being stopped by Kamogawa.
  • In the manga, Kamogawa hit Aoki with his cane. In the anime, Kamogawa hits Takamura with his cane.
