- The arc this episode and until episode 25 covers took place after the Battle of Hawk Arc in the manga rather than after the A Passing Point Arc.
- In the manga, Kamogawa and Nekota were at the Pension Yoshio while it was snowing. In the anime they were at the Kamogawa gym's office while it was sunny.
- In the manga, Kamogawa went to the Pension Yoshio to see Yuki after promising to inform her when a boxer he taught got the world title. In the anime, Kamogawa declines to go to the Pension Yoshio to see Yuki because he already went after the Hawk match and won't see her again until his other half of the promise is fulfilled.
- The anime adds a scene of Kamogawa and Nekota talking about Takamura's two WBC belts.
- In the manga, Ippo and Aoki started talking to Kamogawa and Nekota to ask Kamogawa to go back to the gym as Takamura was causing trouble and spent money on statues of himself. In the anime, Ippo and Aoki start talking to Kamogawa and Nekota after bringing some sunflowers for the office.
