Please Accept This Bronze Statue is Round 25 of the Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger anime, which is the adaptation of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo series.

Details[]

Summary[]

Takamura won the WBC junior middleweight match, defeating Hawk. He is now a world champion, and now he has enough money that he spend it on many things, like for example his clothes and the bronze Takamura statues. The next night we have Itagaki's match, and when he wins, Itagaki tells him that he can visit his house and his family. Ippo thought it will be a good family, but turns down to be a bad humour one.

Trivia[]

  • Fitting in with the Itagaki family's use of homophonic wordplay as jokes, the name of this episode ("Dōzō o Dōzo") has wordplay in it as well.

Anime-Manga Differences[]

  • The episode goes from Round 398 to Round 415, skipping the Post-War Arc to start adapting the Submarine Wars Arc. The Post-War Arc gets adapted in third season.
  • The anime adds a match poster labeled "MEMORY OF OMEGA" for Itagaki's comeback match that reveals his opponent's name and gym affiliation, as well as showing more of the match.
  • In the manga, while watching Itagaki's match, Takamura looked down as Ippo tells Kimura that Takamura was ordered to stop selling the mini Takamura statues and the remaining stock was destroyed. In the anime, this is removed.
  • In the manga, after visiting Itagaki's family, an exhausted Ippo went home and ate dinner after saying "Itagakimasu". In the anime, this is removed.
