Kumiko visits the Kamogawa gym

Kumiko visiting the Kamogawa gym.

Due to the growing popularity of the members of the Kamogawa Boxing Gym, a TV station set up with Yagi Haruhiko, an interview for the fighters with Kumiko. Upon arrival, she was asked for autographs and pictures by the boxers who simply wanted to show off theirs skills. Seeing as the only one who was seriously practising was Ippo Makunouchi, she requested him to spar with her for the cameras (much to the annoyance of his gym mates).

Later that day, she also interviewed foreign fighter Alexander Volg Zangief at the Otowa Boxing Gym.

Appearance[]

Kumiko is a young woman of average height with long brown hair. As a Japanese idol, she was seen as pretty by the Kamogawa gym members. During her visit at the gyms, she wore ear rings and a formal outfit.

Personality[]

Kumiko has a cheerful and energetic personality, fitting for her career as an idol. She often refers to herself in third person. Kumiko was shocked at the Kamogawa gym members more out-going personalities when she first met them.

Etymology[]

  • The name Kumiko is written in katakana (クミコ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (久美子), it could possibly mean "long time" (久) (ku), "beautiful" (美) (mi) and "child" (子) (ko).
  • Kumiko's surname Morita means "forest" (森) (mori) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta).
