Kōichi Murakami (村上 浩一, Murakami Kōichi) is a non-recurring character in Hajime no Ippo. He is a lightweight ranked seventh in the JBC at the time that Ippo Makunouchi sparred with in his dojo duel prior to his match with Takeshi Sendō.

Lallapallooza Arc[]
Kōichi sparred with Ippo on his third day of his dojo dual. He was able to last until the fourth round before he got knocked out.
Etymology[]
- The name Kōichi means "prosperous" (浩) (kō) and "one" (一) (ichi).
- Kōichi's surname Murakami means "town, village" (村) (mura) and "above, top, upper" (上) (kami).
