The Look Away (よそ見, Yosomi) is an unorthodox boxing technique created by Aoki Masaru.

Usage[]

The "Look Away" technique involves suddenly stopping your movements and glancing to the side, which makes the opponent instinctively look in the same direction. This brief distraction can create an opening for an attack.

The main advantage is that it breaks the opponent’s focus, giving you a chance to strike. However, it comes with risks: if the opponent catches on, it leaves you open to attacks, and if something behind you catches their attention, the trick won’t work. It’s a high-risk, high-reward tactic that requires perfect timing and awareness.

This is actually a strategic psychological move because it relies on their natural reaction, creating an opening for you to take advantage of. This technique is best used when the match has been ongoing for awhile and when your opponent is tired.

Variants[]

Full-Body Look Away[]

Used by Takamura Mamoru, Takamura turns his whole body, looking away from the opponent.
