The coach with Kojima at his weigh-in with Ippo.
When Kojima Hisato's match against the JBC featherweight champion Makunouchi Ippo was coming up, he went to the Kawahara gym with Kojima to be his second when he sparred against Miyata Ichirō. He stopped the spar when he noticed that Kojima was getting hit too much. Walking away from the gym with Kojima, he asked him if he knows how he will hit Ippo, since he is fast in his own way. After Kojima answered that he picked Ippo for a good reason, he noticed that Kojima is taking the match seriously, and told him that he has faith in him. Later, he went to Kojima's training camp at the Bōsō Jumbo to pick him up. He couldn't find him outside, so he rushed to the sauna and found Kojima passed out on the floor. He took Kojima to his weigh-in with Ippo at the Roigal Hotel, where he tried to stop Kojima from further intimidating Ippo. The next day, he went to the Ryōgoku Kokugikan with Kojima for his JBC featherweight title match against Ippo. Before the match, he gave a letter from Kojima's wife, Kojima Aki to Kojima in the changing room before leaving to let Kojima concentrate on his upcoming match.

When the match began, he went to the ring with Kojima to be his chief second. During the first round, as Ippo was unexpectedly not making the first move, his staff wondered if he is going to drag out the match and wait it out until the second half, however, the coach disagreed, as he has to make Kojima move to tire him out, and Ippo's coach, Kamogawa Genji has a philosophy that makes the strategy unlikely. The match ended in the first round with Kojima losing by a one punch knockout. He hurried into the ring to check on Kojima and praised his efforts when he saw that he was alright. He tried to let Kojima get on a stretcher, however, Kojima wanted to walk out of the ring on his own since it is his last time. He lost Kojima after the match as he retired.
