Padawan had an upcoming match against Aoki Masaru as a semi-final for Takamura Mamoru's second WBC middleweight title defence match against Rickey Mouse. When Padawan's match against Aoki arrived, he went to the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. When the match began, Padawan was knocked down by Aoki in the ninth round due to an unexpected Frog Punch counter. The referee ended the match, resulting in Padawan's loss.
