- The name Ryūhei means "dragon" (龍) (ryū) and "flat, broad, level, even, peaceful" (平) (hei).
- Ryūhei's surname Inoue means "well, mine shaft, pit" (井) (i) and "above, top, upper" (上) (ue), which literally means "above the well" altogether.
