Shimono Zoo (下野動物園, Shimono Dōbu~tsuen) is a zoo located in Japan. The zoo is a popular dating spot, as it appeared on a "Tokyo Date Map" magazine.[1] It also has a store where customers can purchase items such as shirts and towels.
This is the place where Makunouchi Ippo had a date with Mashiba Kumi.[2] Takamura Mamoru went to this zoo in order to find a animal-themed boxing technique.[3] Before his fight against Wally, Ippo went to this zoo to observe monkeys.[4]

Trivia[]
- "Shimono" means "Spiraea japonica, a type of plant in the Rosaceae family.
- There is also a city called Shimotsuke (下野市, Shimotsuke-shi), which implies that this is where the "Shimono Zoo" is located in the series.
