Team Itagaki (板垣組, Itagaki-gumi) were a two-person group that Itagaki Manabu made, where his goal was to have two new professional kōhai, and to surpass Team Aoki in order to gain control in unofficial ranking of the Kamogawa gym.
Background[]
They are underclassmen from Itagaki Manabu's school with an amateur boxing background. When they joined the Kamogawa gym, Itagaki secretly trained them since Takamura Mamoru, Aoki Masaru, Kimura Tatsuya and Makunouchi Ippo tend to put new recruits through a harsh training program, where new members end up not joining the gym after.

Team Itagaki stopped by Itagaki from introducing themselves.
Team Itagaki were having their pro test at the Kōrakuen Hall with Yagi Haruhiko accompanying. Before their pro test began, they met Ippo and Itagaki. They were about to introduce themselves to Ippo before being stopped by Itagaki, did not want them to do it until they proved themselves by passing their pro test. However, they ended up losing their pro test and later quit the Kamogawa gym.
