Shinoda, a trainer at the Kamogawa Boxing Gym.
A boxing trainer (トレーナー, torēnā) is a position for an individual that specialises in training a single boxer or small group of boxers.
They physically train amateur and professional boxers to be successful in the ring. They also help the coach of a gym at times to train the coach's boxers when they are away from the gym. At the ring, whenever the boxer or boxers they train are in a official match or spar, they act as the chief second. A trainer will also assist the coach during his boxer's matches as well, acting as a second. A trainer can throw a towel into the ring in order to immediately stop the match if the coach feels their boxer is seriously injured.
