Boxing has several weight divisions in order for boxers to compete with others of the same size. Before a match, a boxer goes through weight management if they have trouble staying in their weight class.
Weigh-ins for fights are usually held a day before the fight; most unified boxing rules allow for fighters to be a pound over the limit.
